Bill Cosby was found guilty on three counts of aggravated indecent assault in April for both drugging and sexually assaulting Andrea Constand in 2004. Now, he awaits an additional hearing after Montgomery County District Attorney Kevin R. Steele filed a motion declaring Cosby to be a sexually violent predator.

Cosby’s conviction carries a maximum sentence of 30 years, BuzzFeed News reports, which would likely equate to the former Cosby Show star spending the rest of his life in jail. Additionally, the label of a sexually violent predator means the 81-year-old comedian would be required to officially register as such with the Pennsylvania State Police and attend sex offender counseling for the remainder of his life.

In response to this move, Cosby’s team has urged reconsideration, declaring the title would impede on Cosby’s constitutional right to protect his reputation as well as interfere with his familial relationships.

Cosby’s team finds the potential declaration “is by any measure excessive when applied to an 81-year-old blind man,” and damaging considering how it may damage relationships Cosby has with his children and grandchildren. “No misconduct regarding children has ever been alleged," BuzzFeed News also reports.

According to Kate Delano, a public information officer for the Montgomery County District Attorney’s Office, a hearing to determine whether Cosby will be declared a sexually violent predator will occur before his September 24 sentencing, CNN reports.

According to ABC Chicago, the Constand case is the only criminal case against Cosby following allegations of sexual assault from more than 60 women.
