After a federal jury found R. Kelly guilty on all counts of racketeering and sex trafficking charges on Monday, Bill Cosby and his spokesperson are speaking up in support of the disgraced R&B singer.

Cosby's spokesman, Andrew Wyatt, spoke with TMZ on Tuesday and explained his client's reaction to the conviction. According to Wyatt, Cosby feels "the guy was railroaded."

The 84-year-old and his publicist are also blaming attorney Gloria Allred, who represented survivors in Kelly's case, as well as those who brought accusations against Cosby.  

"Gloria Allred did the same thing that she did with him," Wyatt said. "You parade women out, and you stir up the public sentiment to go against him, and that's what they did to R. Kelly."

The spokesperson believes that Kelly is a victim of racism.

“What we see in America today, you know, with R. Kelly is an assault on Black men,” he said. “This is an assault on successful Black men who are doing great things.”

While continuing to blame the system, Wyatt said he feels that Kelly will appeal and get his conviction overturned.

"We see Harvey Weinstein who is out on bond. We see the Black and white issue. We see the cancel culture issue in America. And we see the assault on successful Black men who have wealth," he said. "What Black people have to do is say 'no' to Gloria Allred and her racist tactics. She went after Shaquille O'Neal, Tiger Woods. She only goes after Black men who have money and success."

As Blavity previously reported, Kelly learned his fate on Monday when a jury of seven men and five women said he is the leader of a decades-long effort to recruit women and underage girls for sex. The "I Believe I Can Fly" singer, who will be sentenced on May 4, faces the possibility of decades in prison.

Cosby was freed from prison earlier this year on a legal technicality, as Blavity previously reported. He served over two years of an up to-10-year sentence for sexually assaulting Andrea Constand in 2004.
