Broccoli City is a nonprofit organization focused on building thriving urban communities that sustain future generations. As part of its Broccoli City Week of events – which will include a big festival featuring artists including Cardi B, Migos and Miguel – the organization is hosting its sixth annual 5K race and officially partnered with Nike, Inc. to help make it happen.

The Broccoli City Foundation partnered with Nike Running and the Choose Go campaign in an effort to help support and "expand the ability to get the neighbors living in the District to move," a press release obtained by Blavity read.

In the release, Broccoli City founder Brandon McEachern said Nike Running has been an "invaluable partner" to the foundation.

"We share a commitment to improving the outcomes in our communities and are looking forward to continuing to work together to empower people to live healthier lives," he said.

The race is set to begin at 9:30 a.m. at the Anacostia Skate Pavilion in Washington, D.C. Participants can purchase advanced tickets for $15. Proceeds from ticket sales will benefit Broccoli City Foundation and its year-round programming, the release states.
