Black Panther stars Danai Gurira, Lupita Nyong’o and Michael B. Jordan fulfilled all our Wakanda-themed fantasies at the InStyle & Warner Bros. Golden Globes after-party.
In a short film created in the after-party photo booth, the co-stars blessed us all with not one, but two Black Panther fanfiction romances. The 18-second Instagram video clip posted on Sunday, starts with Gurira, rocking a stunning red gown, waiting for the elevator. When the elevator doors open, we’re met with Jordan and Nyong’o engaged in a faux, but passionate, make-out session.
It’s safe to say the world, specifically Twitter, has been dying to see this coupledom come to life. It may not be real, but the fact that we get to see a glimpse of our favorite would-be couple was enough to get us all fangirling.
The video then shows Gurira angrily walking into the elevator, pushing Killmonger to the left and grabbing Lupita Nyong’o for another (fake) kissing session. People have been fantasizing about Nakia and Okoye (Nyong’o and Gurira’s respective roles in the Marvel phenom) since the movie premiered in early 2018. There were even rumors that Okoye would be involved with one of her fellow Dora Milaje warriors before the film was released.
The video captured everything from the most shocking betrayal to the steamiest romance. We're still shook!
While they, unfortunately, didn’t take home any awards at the show, they undoubtedly won the best troll of the night.
