A Black New York woman has been arrested for reportedly pepper-spraying white people in a series of alleged hate crimes.
The woman, who is trans, has been identified by the name Thomas Heard. She reportedly carried out several attacks on white people because of their race.
She was arrested Saturday by police, according to the New York Daily News. The 37-year-old approached strangers on the street and pepper-sprayed them.
Authorities are looking into a slew of other attacks in Manhattan they believe she might have conducted.
The Bronx resident walked up to a husband and wife who were shopping Friday afternoon, kicked the 55-year-old man, pepper-sprayed him and told the couple “I f**king hate white people.”

Other attacks followed over several days. According to Fox 5 New York, she approached another couple near her apartment on Saturday. She reportedly asked the 24-year-old woman if she was white.
Police released surveillance footage and pictures to apprehend the woman. Late Saturday, Bronx police finally caught Heard and arrested her on charges including assault as a hate crime, weapon possession, menacing and harassment.
