2016 is off to a nice start with the takeover and acknowledgement of the well-known hashtag #BlackGirlMagic continuing to strengthen the bond of black women all over. In the same spirit, visionary creative Quest and Coal Crown Creative return to shed light on black beauty.
With the same concept as Classically Beautiful”The Discussion” (NYC), this new narrative takes place in Newark, New Jersey, capturing the perspective, characteristics, thoughts, and opinions of black women and their beauty.
The 16-minute documentary, hosted by young Newark poet and scholar, Jasmine Mans, touches on more than just black beauty. Along with some lighthearted humor, motivating thought clips of Janelle Monae and Amma Asante encourage black women to manifest their voice and understand the power of dialogue.
