Upon the police discovering Young's body, his mother, Tiffany Robinson, posted a statement to her Instagram and Facebook page.
"God has allowed me to celebrate life with my son TAYLOUR Gallardo Young for 25 years. I am so thankful that God blessed me with TAYLOUR. I am proud of the man he matured into. As I shared TAYLOUR's disappearance with the world, I want to share my worldly loss as well. I [lost] my son, my baby, my friend; and will raise his love, his dog Gigi," she wrote in a caption below a picture of her son.
"During TAYLOUR's family time of mourning, I ask that you continue to lift us up in prayer. Be mindful and respectful of our privacy and the fact that the investigation is still ongoing," the grieving mother added.
The Dallas County Medical Examiner's Office is inspecting his cause of death while police continue to investigate his death.
It is with great sadness that the mother of #taylouryoung has announced her son has passed. I had hoped he would be found safe, having followed this tragic story from the beginning.
Deepest condolences to his family and especially his Mother. Rest in Peace Taylour. pic.twitter.com/71BRkkFFzO

Surveillance video recorded the young man on Dec. 9 driving his 2019 silver Honda Civic on South Voss Road in Houston. His mother has been trying to locate him since Dec. 10, based on a post made on her Instagram account.
Hip-hop artist Cardi B caught wind of Robinson's story and reposted it on her Instagram page with 123 million followers, People reports.
"He was humble, nice, active and friendly. He loves fishing, riding bikes, but most importantly, skateboarding. He's not argumentative. He's not a fighter. He loves helping people. It's just odd that this could happen to him, disappearing," Robinson told People.
People with information about Young's death are asked to call the Houston Police Department Homicide Division at 713-308-3600.
