An update on a project we first alerted you to almost exactly a year ago, the last time it was mentioned on this blog.

It's upcoming drama/thriller titled Recalled, which stars Shad "Bow Wow" MossAidan QuinnMalik YobaSeth Gabel, and a host of others.

The story, based on an award-winning short film of the same name, goes…

After being granted a questionable transfer that will keep him stateside as his unit deploys for Iraq, Lieutenant Danny Sefton becomes embroiled in a last minute AWOL attempt by one of his soldiers — forcing him to choose between his loyalties to the fleeing soldier, his unit and his fiancé.

Seth Gabel plays Danny Sefton; Bow Wow, who previously announced his intent to stretch himself as an actor (naming Will Smith's career as an influence), is our AWOL soldier – Specialist Chris Reyes.

Malik Yoba's plays Staff Sergeant Hart, described as the father figure of their unit who does his best to keep the "Jamaica Avenue Boys" in line on the eve of their deployment.

Michael Connors is both writer and director – his feature film debut.

At the time of our last post, the film was in post-production; I learned this morning that it is scheduled to make its World Premiere at the Seattle International Film Festival – a fest that actually begun about 2 weeks ago, and runs through June 10.

No S&A writers in Seattle right now, so we likely won't have a festival review of it for you this time around; but if any of our readers in Seattle plan on seeing the film, or are interested, shoot me an email ([email protected]) if you'd like to submit a review.

Still no trailer for the film yet; just a few still images, above and below:
