Brandy has been tapped for the lead role in The Eggers Brothers’ A24 psychological horror film, The Front Room— Shadow and Act has learned.
Both Max Eggers and Sam Eggers will helm the film in their directorial debut. It is based on the Susan Hill short story, in a young, newly pregnant couple is “forced to take in an ailing stepmother who has long been estranged from the family.”
Kathryn Hunter, Andrew Burnap and Neal Huff will also star.
This will be the latest Eggers-A24 team-up after their older brother Robert Eggers’ The Lighthouse, starring Robert Pattinson and Willem Dafoe, in 2019. Max co-wrote that film with Robert.
A24 produces The Front Room alongside Lucan Toh, Babak Anvari and Bryan Sonderman of Two & Two Pictures and Julia Oh and David Hinojosa of 2AM.
A24 Is financing and is handling worldwide releases.
Brandy, who appeared in the iconic horror film I Know What You Did Last Summer, is having a major return to film with this project, as well as Netflix’s Best. Christmas. Ever. She was last seen on television in ABC’s Queens.
