It’s been a long road for Da Brat and Jesseca “Judy” Dupart, and Brat’s sister LisaRaye McCoy. McCoy felt slighted and left out of Brat’s newfound happiness since coming out with her relationship with Judy. While McCoy has been supportive, she’s admitted publicly that she and Brat have been estranged at times.

LisaRaye McCoy gifts Da Brat and Judy a personalized wedding gift and apologizes to Judy
Despite the drama, McCoy served as a bridesmaid at her sister’s wedding. On their wedding day, McCoy gave the couple a gift: a glass plaque that reads “Grace 2/22/22” to honor the date of their union. She took the chance to speak 1:1 with Judy as well and put their issues behind her.
“I wanted to do this really quickly before we go out there and let everybody witness this wonderful, amazing, loving union,” she told Judy before the ceremony as reported by Urban Belle Mag.
She continued, “I’m the type of person that I take away, I walk away, and I reflect. And being the woman that you are, the mother that you are, the significant other that you are, the family member that you are now; our start over is a real start over. I wanted to give both of you all this and I’d like for you to open it very quickly in front of me because it’s meaningful to me.”
The couple saw the plaque and were touched. “You’re absolutely right. Grace belongs to every family,” McCoy told them.
Judy was appreciative of the gift
Just as eager as McCoy was ready to move forward, so was Judy. Brat’s new wife was thankful for the olive branch. “When we received the gift from LisaRaye, it was so thoughtful, so heartfelt and so at the right time. We were kind of taken aback like, ‘Oh!’ I think it’s a great start in moving forward and having a great relationship,” she said in her confessional.
