The Toronto International Film Festival has named Cameron Bailey as its artistic director, aligning him with artistic director of TIFF Bell Lightbox, Noah Cowan.
The move is essentially a title change, as Bailey, who previously served as co-director of the festival, will continue to oversee all TIFF programming efforts year-round along with Cowan.
“Over the past 18 months, the programming heads have been working towards finding ways to become further integrated when looking at our curatorial efforts throughout the year,” Bailey said. “This title change is one important step in this process.”
The 2012 festival is scheduled to run from Sept 6-16.
