There's a lot going at this moment. The U.S. is on the brink of nuclear war with North Korea, multiple hurricanes have devastated the Caribbean, the NFL has co-opted Colin Kaepernick's protest and Donald Trump continues to be a national embarrassment.
But some people find it necessary to bash dudes that listen to the queen, the goddess Beyoncé. In a Twitter thread started by a user named Ezra, a debate over if straight men can listen to Beyoncé and still be considered heterosexual brought up some interesting questions about sexuality.
Men who listen to Beyonce, we need to talk. What's your problem? How do you put your stereo on and play "who run the world, girls girls"

Imagine somebody's MCM putting his headphones and jamming Beyonce's "all the single ladies" or "To the left"
Smh kinda faggotry tbh

Okay, truth is, I used to enjoy the Beyonce of Destiny's Child and early solo career. Until she started singing too much girl power n lost me

Ezra's tweets fall in line with other "theories" about sexuality from non-experts. Gay guys listen to certain types of music, wear certain types of clothes and typically act feminine. It's 2017 and people can't imagine a world where gay men play sports, act like "traditional" men and who may listen to "real men's music."
Some users could not believe Ezra would make an assertion like this.
Truth be told, you're not "man enough" if Beyoncé's singing to empower women threatens your tenuous hold on "manhood". FYI.

So you need to be IN the target audience to enjoy something? Truth be told, you need songs about U to relate. How close minded is that?

Women listen to songs that degrade them all the time ; he’ll be alright

Imagine thinking that if a man listens to Beyoncé,there is something wrong with his masculinity.
Wow some of the people on this app… pic.twitter.com/9KglMktuAA— Njabulo Masango (@njabulo_musa) September 27, 2017
It's ridiculous to assume that someone should belong to a certain demographic based on the music they listen to. You can appreciate music no matter who you are or who it comes from.
Lastly, Beyoncé makes great music! Some of her singles knock like a motherf*****, okay? and listening does not determine your sexuality. Queen Bey is for all.
"Green Light" is a bop, ahk. RT @RealLifeKaz: "Formation" slaps https://t.co/Tt12N333R3
