WNBA champion Candace Parker and her wife, Russian basketball star Anna Petrakova, have given birth to a baby boy. The couple announced the birth of their child on Instagram on Friday.
"Airr Larry Petrakov Parker 2-11-22," Parker wrote. "We are in absolute love and utter appreciation that Goose chose us. Welcome to the fam SON."
Parker, who married Petrakova in 2019, went to social media in December to announce that her wife is pregnant, ESPN reports. The WNBA star also has a daughter named Lailaa, who was born in 2009 when Parker was married to former NBA player Shelden Williams.
Parker, who started her career with the Los Angeles Sparks, became the No.1 pick in the 2008 WNBA draft after winning two NCAA titles with Tennessee. The two-time WNBA MVP and 2008 Rookie of the Year also won a WNBA title in 2016 with the Sparks.
Petrakova played for the Russian national team in the 2012 Summer Olympics. Parker and Petrakova also played together for UMMC Ekaterinburg in the Russian Women's Basketball Premier League.
