This should come as a welcomed surprise to fans of his charming and hilarious feature film debut, "Hav Plenty" (1997); and while he directed 2 feature films after that (the 2002 retelling of F. Scott Fitzgerald’s The Great Gatsby, "G," notably, starring Richard T Jones), he’ll probably always be most remembered for "Hav Plenty" – unless he produces something else that makes us forget it. And this just might be that film…
Christopher Scott Cherot has quietly been working on his next feature, for which he’s debuted a first trailer, embedded at the bottom of this post.
In brief, titled "Sex and Violence! Or: A Brief Review of Simple Physics," specific details on the film (which is currently in post-production), in terms of plot especially, are currently "under wraps," but I inquired, so when I know more, you will as well. Although the below trailer should give you some idea.
Like "hav Plenty," Cherot wrote, directed and is also co-starring in "Sex and Violence," alongside a cast that includes a few names you’d be familiar with like Meta Golding and Robinne Lee (who also co-starred in "Hav Plenty"), as well as Travis Johns, Timon Kyle Durrett and others.
The film is produced by Wanderlust Pictures Inc. No ETA yet, but a 2016 film festival debut is likely. Cherot has a history with Sundance ("Have Plenty" screened there, albeit 17 years ago, in 1998), so a premiere there next year wouldn’t be a shocker. But what do I know, right? It’s just good to know that the man has something new in the works, and I’m certainly curious…
First trailer for "Sex and Violence! Or: A Brief Review of Simple Physics" follows below.
