To help women make better decisions when it comes to cosmetic surgery, Cardi B recently opened up to fans on social media about her painful experience.

The 30-year-old rapper has always been transparent about getting cosmetic surgery. And now, according to People magazine, she recently hopped on Instagram Live to tell women that it’s dangerous not to do the proper research when considering any type of cosmetic surgery. During her Live, she mentioned she wanted to be honest with her followers because people assumed she got surgery after she had her second child, Wave.

“In August I got surgery and I removed 95% of my biopolymers. … if you don’t know what it is, it’s ass shots. It was a really crazy process,” she said. “All I’m going to say is that if you’re young, if you’re 19, 20, 21, and sometimes you’re too skinny, and you be like ‘OMG I don’t have enough fat to put in my ass,’ so you result to ass shots — don’t!”

The “Up” artist shared that years ago she got butt shots in a basement for only $800 in her early 20s — an illegal and unsafe procedure. She went on to give some advice about getting a Brazilian butt lift.

“When it comes to BBLs, if y’all want advice from me, before you get your BBL done you have to make sure your blood levels are all right. If a doctor says your blood levels are too low or you have diabetes or whatever, don’t do it,” she explained.

After she started working in a strip club, she saved some of the money she made dancing to get breast implants. She said that sometimes she felt insecure about being skinny due to how the environment she grew up in perceived her.

“Well, I’m from New York, right? And New York is a melting pot, especially where I grew up in the Bronx. I was really skinny when I was younger, and in the Bronx it’s about being thick and having an ass,” the rapper told Mariah Carey in a conversation for her Interview cover story. “So, young boys would be like, ‘Look at your flat ass. You ain’t got no titties.’ And it would make me feel so ugly and undeveloped.”

After enhancing her breast size, the next thing on her radar was her butt. She was 20 years old and still dancing. Cardi said she wanted a body that she felt was admired more at the urban strip club where she worked.

“When I first went to the strip club, I always felt like I was pretty. I always felt like I had a nice body,” she said in an interview with VladTV in 2017.

She continued, “When I got to the strip club, it got worse. I always knew I wanted to get my boobs, but it wasn’t a necessity. But when I got there I felt like it was a necessity to get them done.”

In addition to her previous augmentations and her recent rhinoplasty, the rapper went under the knife for liposuction and a second breast surgery in 2019 after giving birth to her first child, Kulture, People magazine reported at the time.
