Director Carl Franklin (Devil in a Blue Dress, One False Move, Out of Time) has been busy, involved with a new TV series, while also currently in post-production for his latest feature, Bless Me Ultima.

The filmmaker has been directing several episodes fo the upcoming Steven Spielberg exec produced series Falling Skies, which premieres on TNT, on June 19th

The series deals with a group of people trying to survive the aftermath of a…wait for it… an alien invasion!. Bet you didn’t see that coming.

I mean, it might be a really good show. We haven’t seen it yet and there have been no advance reviews for it so far, but ANOTHER alien invasion show? By my count, Falling Skies is the 436,467 project made for movie theaters, or TV, about an alien invasion.

Isn’t there something else that can invade earth?
