Andrew Dosunmu, director of the beautifully hypnotic Sundance 2011 selection Restless City (a film I hope will get some theatrical exposure soon), is currently casting for his next feature film, titled Ma’George – a project previously workshopped at the Sundance Labs.
The film’s brief synopsis reads: “Torn between her African culture and new life in America, a woman struggles to please her husband and give him the son that will carry on his family’s legacy.“
The lead role has already been cast, though I’m not sure if I’m at liberty to say who the actress is, so I’ll keep my mouth shut until it all becomes official. That said, the production team is casting primarily for “bit roles and extras… for a major wedding scene and restaurant scenes.“
If you’re an actor/actress with interest, AND you live in New York City, here’s what you need to know about the casting call:
WHEN: Sunday July 31st, 2 to 5PM
WHERE: 158 Roebling Street, 2nd Floor, Williamsburg/Brooklyn 11211
