Dominque Thorne has said before how she originally auditioned to play T’Challa’s sister Shuri for the original Black Panther. Now the chemistry read between her and Chadwick Boseman has been released, giving us a look at what could have been.

MovieWeb reports that Twitter account MediaBRMN posted the screen test between Thorne and Boseman, which was shown in Disney+‘s Marvel Studios Assembled: The Making of Black Panther: Wakanda Forever. Producer Nate Moore can be heard in the video describing why they came back to Thorne when casting Riri Williams, aka Ironheart.

“We really liked her and we thought she was really smart and she has a great presence and she is funny,” said Moore. “…[S]he has a lot of attitude. But we remembered that audition and so when we decided to Riri Williams into Wakanda Forever, she was the first and only call.”

Williams became one of the standout players in the film as Williams, whose tech lands her in hot water with Namor (Tenoch Huerta Mejia) and his underwater kingdom of Talokan as well as the American government. But it’s her tech that helps save the day once Namor comes to destroy Wakanda. Black Panther: Wakanda Forever is now streaming on Disney+.
