A film I’ve been dying to see is the animated feature film Chico & Rita which we have written about before several times right here on S & A, and now anyone in the Chicagoland area will have their chance to see it, since it’s one of several black-themed films to be shown at this year’s Chicago International Film Festival Oct. 6-20.

The other films, which are showing as part of the Black Perspectives, World Cinema and Documentary programming at CIFF are:

All Me: The Life and Times of Winfred Rembert; David is Dying; Destiny of Lesser Animals; The Double Steps; Le Havre; Kinyarwanda; Leave it on the Floor; Undefeated; and a special retrospective screening of Cooley High
