Late night television Wednesday night was so on point. While Gucci Mane & Travis Scott performed on Jimmy Kimmel, our own superhero Donald Glover (Childish Gambino) performed on Jimmy Fallon last night, and we were given an amazing performance.

One of the questions after the release of Glover’s third album Awaken, My Love! was whether or not there was pitch work done during the engineering sessions. Glover has already come out and said none was done and this performance on Fallon solidifies it. Every note in this live performance is nailed by Glover. I saw Gambino live in 2011 and his rap performance is different from this. You can tell he’s concentrating on hitting every note and now it makes more sense as to why we’ve only seen Glover perform twice this year, because it takes every ounce of being you have to hit and nail notes like this.

Also it’s one thing to perform live on late night television, but the visuals paired with Gambino’s performance were aesthetically pleasing. Clearly harkening from the 70s and 80s (as referenced by his wonderful pants), we can only pray that after this we get a tour from Mr. Glover.
