Rozonda “Chilli” Thomas of TLC said she doesn’t support President Donald Trump after records of her donating to his campaign surfaced online. She also shared a debunked conspiracy video about Michelle Obama, which she said she didn’t know was reposted on her account.

TLC’s Chilli donated to the Trump campaign but insisted she isn’t MAGA

Several donations were made to Trump and other MAGA-aligned groups by Rozonda Thomas of Stone Mountain, Georgia, in FEC records. It shows an address that is publicly linked to the singer, first reported by MeidasTouch News.

The records show $210.60 were donated to WinRed, the payment processor for Republican campaign donations, $340.60 to the Trump National Committee JFC, and $486.54 to Never Surrender Inc., a fundraising group backed by Trump.

After the information surfaced online, Thomas took to social media to deny her support of Trump and his policies.

“I want to be clear: I am not MAGA and do not support any of the many policies that are causing great harm to the American people,” she wrote in an Instagram post. “I made a mistake too many make: I did not read the fine print. I thought I was supporting causes against human trafficking and for veterans. Two things I care deeply about as my dad is a veteran and everyone knows I love children. I have learned a valuable lesson and ask for grace as I navigate this.”

TLC’s Chilli also addressed a Michelle Obama conspiracy video that she reposted on social media

As news of the donations surfaced, fans started to look into Thomas’s online history. She reportedly shared a conspiracy video alleging Michelle Obama registered to vote as a man in 1994, liked several posts linked to Trump and Charlie Kirk and also follows several MAGA Republicans

Thomas addressed the claims in a video posted online. She said reposting the Obama conspiracy was an accident.

“I have the utmost respect and adoration for Michelle Obama and I would never say anything that is disrespectful to her or any woman,” she said on Saturday, according to Complex. “I had no clue that this repost had happened until I started to get phone calls and text messages from everybody, and I immediately went to my page to see what was going on.

“Mind you, I’m not very computer savvy, so I’m looking for this repost button,” Thomas added. “I see all of these buttons are very close to each other. I was scrolling, and my thumb hit the repost button.”

“I had no clue that something like this happened until I got all of the calls,” she also said. “Of course, I took that down. I would never post anything like that. That’s not my character. I have supported the Obamas. I gave to the campaign for both runs. I voted twice for him and supported the organization that Michelle had in the schools for exercise for the kids.”

In 2017, Thomas already experienced backlash after she said that “all lives matter” after being asked about the Black Lives Matter movement.

“I personally didn’t go to any marches or anything like that. For me, all lives matter, you know what I mean?” she told Thomas UK’s Channel 4 News at the time, according to Complex.
