Following up on yesterday’s post, which included Spike Lee’s Twitter announcement that his next project, the secretive Red Hook Summer, would be released in summer 2012.
We still don’t really know what the film is about, and who else is in the film; but yesterday, BlackFilm.com is reporting that, in addition to Lee himself reprising his role as Mookie, the character he played in Do the Right Thing, actors Clarke Peters, Nate Parker, Turron Kofi Alleyne, Samantha Ivers, Limary Agosto, Heather Simms, and Kalon Jackson, are also in the film.
Although, no word on what exactly their respective roles are.
As already noted, shooting wrapped in early August.
Still no official synopsis; all we know is that the story centers on a dude from ATL who spends a summer in the Red Hook section of Brooklyn, NY.
Stay tuned…
