nullMust have missed this when it was announced a few days ago. In anticipation of the abduction-themed Woman Thou Art Loosed!: On the Seventh Day, Codeblack Entertainment and Bishop T.D. Jakes have joined in support of the Black and Missing Foundation, Inc., a nonprofit organization that raises awareness about missing people of color.

On the Seventh Day stars Blair Underwood and Sharon Leal as a couple grappling with the abduction of their six-year-old daughter.

Through the partnership with BAM FI, Codeblack and T.D. Jake's The Potter's House will spearhead a national social media and outreach campaign to highlight the issue of abduction, the relative lack of media coverage for missing persons of color, and also provide education and personal safety tools to the community.

This summer, BAM FI will be featured at The Potter's House's MEGA TOTZ and MEGA KIDZ conferences, where the foundation will present safety workshops and provide child identification kits to prepare families in crisis.

“It is so important to educate our community on this issue, especially since an overwhelming number of missing persons in the United States are of color,” said Derrica Wilson, co-founder of Black and Missing. “We are so pleased that The Potter’s House along with Bishop T.D. Jakes and Codeblack Entertainment will use their platform to help find our missing men, women and children.”

Woman Thou Art Loosed!: On the Seventh Day comes to theaters April 13. For more on the film, visit Codeblack Entertainment.
