Coi Leray is well aware the hip-hop community has yet to create a No. 1 song this year and is invested in shifting that reality.
On Tuesday, the “Players” singer took to Twitter to express her idea for a grand plan for hip-hop to regain the No. 1 spot. Instead of doing it alone, she thinks it’ll require an earnest, collective effort from all contemporary female rappers.
“Ain’t been a #1 rap song at all this year. Calling all the female rappers to the front,” she wrote. “Here me out. ladies night. Hip hop. Unity. Let’s make history with a number 1 …together .. with love. #justanidea”

Combating the notion female rappers can’t win together, Leray subscribes to the idea this is a total fallacy and that they are much stronger together than apart.
With this today’s vast subsection of females in hip-hop today, some of which include Nicki Minaj, Latto, Cardi B, Noname, Rapsody, Kali, Baby Tate, and so much more, there isn’t a better time in history for camaraderie and collaboration to take place. If something of this nature can come into fulfillment, it’ll not only potentially hit No. 1 on the charts but will be a significant win for the culture in general.
