Rapper/actor Common is in talks to take on Liam Neeson in the Warner Bros actioner Run All Night, to be directed by Jaume Collet-Serra (who directed Neeson in Unknown, and the upcoming Non-Stop), from a script penned by Brad Inglesby, which centers on an aging hitman (played by Neeson) who has to go up against his brutal former boss (played by Ed Harris) in order to protect his estranged son (played by Joel Kinnaman) and his family.

Common will play Harris’ best and most-trusted hitman, described as cool, crafty and a very determined killer, who Harris’ character apparently sets on Neeson.

I wonder who’ll win that on-screen showdown?

Roy Lee and Brooklyn Weaver are producing, with John Middleton exec producing.

Common, who starred in Sheldon Candis’ feature film debut, LUV, can also be seen on AMC’s Western Hell on Wheels.
