nullSo tomorrow is the big day; Lee Daniels’ The Butler – a film that was in the middle of a legal battle between its distributor, The Weinstein Company, and their opponent, Warner Bros., but is now in the clear – opens tomorrow, August 16.

Finally, right? I feel like we’ve been talking about this film forever, and quite a lot! I think it was Sergio who said that it might be this year’s Precious, as debate over it has been quite entertaining to watch, listen to and read.

The film which covers several decades in the life of Eugene Allen, the White House butler who served many presidents, and is loaded with a cast that includes: Forest WhitakerOprah WinfreyDavid OyelowoColman DomingoJohn CusackAlan Rickman, Jane Fonda, Melissa LeoLiev SchreiberJesse WilliamsAml AmeenLenny Kravitz, Cuba Gooding Jr and many more.

Ahead of tomorrow’s opening on over 2,900 screens nationwide, courtesy of The Weinstein Company, an S&A box office guess contest – I haven’t done one of these in a long while, it seems.

For new readers, it’s very simple: all you have to do is guess what you think the film’s domestic opening weekend box office take will be, and whomever comes closest to the actual figure (when it’s announced on Sunday), without going over, wins a $50 Amazon.com gift certificate.

Like I said, easy enough.

You have until tomorrow, Friday, August 16th, at Noon EST, to leave your guesses in the comment section below. And be sure to use an email address where you can be reached, because that’s how I’m going to contact the winner.

Before you post your guess, look over any existing guesses to make sure someone else hasn’t already guessed the exact same number. If more than 1 winner emerges on Sunday, I’ll go with whomever was the first to post their guess, using the time stamps that accompany each comment posted.

Got it? Make sense? If not, feel free to ask for clarification below.

Watch 4 clips from the film below, and underneath them, you’ll find the latest poster.
