We are super excited about the upcoming Spider-Man: Homecoming film and it's super diverse cast, which includes the likes of Zendaya, Laura Harrier and Donald Glover, just to name a few.
But we're still bummed that another Spider-Man film series is about to commence and we're still talking about Peter Parker and not Miles Morales, the Blatino web-slinger.
Caleb McLaughlin is one of Hollywood's rising stars. He is currently starring as Lucas in the breakout Netflix series, Stranger Things, for which he won a SAG Award as a part of the show's cast. Recently, he also gave an amazing performance as Young Ricky Bell in BET's critically-acclaimed New Edition biopic.
On Wednesday, McLaughlin posted a photo on Instagram that's got us wondering.

It seems that McLaughlin himself is very interested in playing Morales. Could he show up in the current franchise as Morales? Given where they are starting with the plot line in Spider-Man: Homecoming, this may be kind of hard to incorporate the character. However, anything can happen. By the time the next film comes out, 15-year-old McLaughlin would be a young adult and perfect for it.
But if not in this series, what about the next film series? Or is this even about the film series? Could McLaughlin voice Miles? You know an animated movie is coming soon, too. A live action TV series? A Netflix series?
So many questions and we don't have any answers right now. But McLaughlin's cryptic hashtags "#letmeknow" "#itsupttoyou" "#blessed" lead us to think that this may be already in the works.
Let's hope so.
