Da Brat is pregnant! She and her wife, Jesseca “Judy” Harris-Dupart, are expecting their first child together.
The couple announced the news in an exclusive interview with People. While speaking with the outlet, Da Brat shared she thought having kids wasn’t part of her life’s plan.

“I never thought I was going to have kids,” the rapper told People. “I just thought it wasn’t in the cards for me. I’ve had a great career, a full life. I felt like, because I didn’t get pregnant earlier on, then it just wasn’t going to happen for me.”
Da Brat shared that her stance on parenthood changed after meeting and falling for Harris-Dupart, whom she married in February 2022.
“I started looking at life so differently,” she said. “I was like, I want a little me with you. Something special from the both of us that we can share and raise and love unconditionally.”
Although Da Brat was convinced she would never carry a child, Harris-Dupart helped change her mind.
“I was like, nothing’s gonna come out of me!” Da Brat said.
“We had a little tug-o-war in the beginning … but I felt like she should have the experience,” Harris-Dupart told People. “She is so nurturing.”
“It’s been quite a journey,” Harris-Dupart said, admitting that “there’s a lot of stuff we learned about women over the age of 40.”
With both having experienced health complications in the past, including a miscarriage, the couple is excited to welcome their little bundle of joy in the next few months.
“It’s just a blessing. I’m excited!” Da Brat, who is currently 18 weeks pregnant, said. “I don’t have any cravings or nausea, but I’m always sleepy. It’s crazy!”
