Post-Snowfall, Damson Idris has bagged the lead role opposite Brad Pitt in Apple’s upcoming Formula 1 racing film, which is produced by Lewis Hamilton– Shadow and Act has confirmed.

The pic is from director Joseph Kosinski (Top Gun: Maverick), Jerry Bruckheimer Films, Plan B Entertainment, seven-time Formula One champion Hamilton under his Dawn Apollo Films banner, and the entirety of F1– including the ten teams and the FIA. 

Pitt will star former driver who returns to the sport and Idris will play his teammate.

Copper CEO Penni Thow serves as executive producer.

This is Apple Studios’ second feature with Pitt and Plan B Entertainment. They are also partnering with George Clooney’s Smokehouse, on an upcoming, untitled Jon Watts-directed starring Pitt and Clooney.

Most known for his critically-acclaimed role in FX’s Snowfall, he has appeared in films including Farming and Netflix’s Outside the Wire with Anthony Mackie. He also appeared in episodes of Black Mirror, Jordan Peele’s The Twilight Zone reboot, and most recently, Donald Glover and Janine Nabers’ Swarm.
