Danny Glover co-stars in the upcoming feature film, "Waffle Street" – a dramedy that tells the story of James Adams (played by James Lafferty), a VP of a $30 billion hedge fund who lost his job in the recent market crash and wound up working as a waiter in a waffle shop. Amid the greasy madness of the 24-hour diner, Adams befriends ex-con grill master Edward Collins (played by Glover), who serves up hard life lessons.

The riches-to-rags tale is an adaptation of James Adams’ 2010 memoir of the same name, which chronicles the financier’s foray into the food industry. After being laid off at the hedge fund where he worked, and further jaded by his culpability in the crisis, Adams chose to work at a popular 24-hour diner where he claims "most of his financial knowledge has been gleaned." His story is of the redemption and unlikely friendship found under the tutelage of Glover’s character Edward, known as the best short-order cook in town.

"I’m absolutely thrilled to have Danny Glover co-leading the cast," said real-life financier James Adams. "He’s a wonderful actor and perfectly suited for the role of Edward Collins, my restaurant mentor. I look forward to seeing his tremendous range on display as the story makes alternately comedic and serious examinations of the struggle to learn an honest living."

Screenwriter Autumn McAlpin optioned the memoir and is producing along with John J. Kelly ("Divergent," "127 Hours," "Warrior") and Brad Johnson ("Friend Request," "Dawn of the Dragon Slayer"). Brothers Eshom and Ian Nelms, who penned the script along with McAlpin, are directing. This will be the Nelms brothers’ follow-up to their 2013 award-winning film "Lost on Purpose," starring Jane Kaczmarek, C. Thomas Howell and Octavia Spencer.

Production has begun on "Waffle Street" in Lehi, Utah, where the One Man Band Diner has been transformed into the (fictitious) "Papa’s Chicken and Waffles," the primary set piece for story.
