Homeland ex-star (and soon to be Paul Robeson on the big screen in a biopic) David Harewood has joined the cast of David Milch’s HBO pilot The Money, which revolves around a powerful media mogul (Brendan Gleeson) who uses his power and influence to expand his empire and control his family. 

Harewood will play a character named Kurt Corbitt, who’s described as “a grandiose, boisterous, irascible ideologue” who’s the CEO of the parent company Gleeson’s character’s holdings fall under.

Nathan Lane also co-stars in the project playing a reporter working on a *hot* story about the company, on the hunt for crucial evidence.

Justin Chadwick (Mandela: Long Walk To Freedom) will direct the pilot, from a script penned by Milch, who’ll also executive produce alongside Art and John Linson and Frank Rich.

Harewood’s been busy since his Homeland exit after last season; aside from his starring as Paul Robeson in a biopic on the actor, singer, activist’s life, he was also recently cast as Oberon, the Fairy King, in Julie Taymor’s upcoming production of A Midsummer Night’s Dream, an Off-Broadway production at Theatre For A New Audience, in Brooklyn, with performances beginning on October 19, followed by a November 2 official opening.

He also signed up to co-star in the CBS CIA-set pilot Anatomy of Violence, written and produced by his Homeland writer/producer trio – Howard Gordon, Alex Cary and Alex Gansawhich.
