With the monumental success of Netflix's Dear White People, director, producer and writer Justin Simien has become a voice of the people by illustrating the ins and outs of racism on American college campuses.

Simien isn't done yet. According to Deadline, he has announced his new podcast, “Don’t @ Me,” that will provide a space for black voices without the input of white folks.

“It’s when you want to say something on your Twitter or Instagram without getting hit by immediate ‘well, actuallys’ or think pieces without thought,” he said. “This is a safe space for trendsetters and troublemakers to get together without filter or interruption.”

The KCRW podcast will tackle race, gender, sexuality and politics in this modern time of hot takes. Simien has invited longtime collaborator and The Chi creator Lena Waithe for the first episode.

Simien's new podcast is one of a handful of new accolades he has now. He recently became a member of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences and is gearing up for an Emmy run for Dear White People.
