The Cecil B. DeMille award is given each year by the Hollywood Foreign Press to an individual of "demonstrated outstanding achievement in film and television entertainment," the HFPA states.
An official press release is likely coming; and when that happens, I’ll update this post with all the details.
Denzel Washington will become only the 3rd black recipient of the Cecil B. DeMille award in its 63-year history. The other 2: Morgan Freeman in 2012 and, 30 years earlier, Sidney Poitier in 1982.
Last year’s recipient was George Clooney.
Below you’ll find Morgan Freeman’s CeCil B. DeMille tribute which was delivered by Poitier. So I suppose we can assume that Denzel’s tribute will be delivered by Freeman?
