Remember this past weekend when Desiigner was arrested and Twitter went crazy? The “Panda” rapper was rulled over in an alleged road rage incident, where police initially said he waved a gun at an opposing car and had drugs in his car.
The rapper, whose real name is Sidney Royel Selby III, was charged with possession of a loaded weapon, possession of a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance with intent to sell and menacing.
Officials previously dropped the gun charges after a gun wasn’t found, as this was just the account of what the other drive told cops. Now, the the drug charges have been dropped too, as the pills in the car were legal steroids that belonged to the driver. According to TMZ, police initially said that he had Oxycontin, methadone, and steroids in the car.

Desiigner addressed the matter in an Instagram post after he was arrested, telling his fans “they didn’t have to do that (sell pills) anymore.”
His legal team says that they thought that race had a factor in his arrest, saying in a statement, “It’s time to embrace the true narrative of a young black man enjoying his success and working hard for a prosperous career.”
The only charge remaining now is criminal possession of a controlled substance, to which Desiigner says he was unaware of any steroids or drugs being in the car at that time.
While we aren’t sure what exactly may have led up to these circumstances, one thing is for sure, this is just going to be a minor roadblock in Desiigner’s rise to fame and #BlackBoyJoy.
