Diddy revealed in the September issue of Vanity Fair that he is launching a new record label that will be exclusively for R&B artists.

“Yeah, all R&B label, because I feel like R&B was abandoned and it’s a part of our African American culture," he told the magazine.

In the past, Diddy has been accused of mismanaging his artists including Danity Kane. In 2020, Danity Kane member Aubrey O'Day said Diddy stole money from the group, according to HipHop DX. In the same year, Mase called out the media mogul for exploiting his artists and said he failed at buying his masters from him, according to Billboard.

But while the media mogul is optimistic about his new project and turning over a new leaf, Twitter is not here for it.

One Twitter user said that at this point if anyone signs with Combs and gets the short end of the stick, they can only blame themselves.

Another Twitter user said that they would not sign anything in connection with the 51-year-old media mogul.

One person said that artists who are eager to sign with Combs, need to heed the warnings.

Another joked about what Combs' future artists will receive as an advance, after signing onto his new label.

Combs has been criticized in the past for contracts he’s presented to Bad Boy artists, but this time he says he isn’t “signing any artists,” but instead will opt for “50-50 partnerships with pure transparency.”

During his interview, he said he learned from the past and will do things differently this time around.

“…Because if you know better, you do better,” Combs said.

He plans to launch his record label after his new album drops on Sept. 24, AfroTech reported.

This will be Combs' first album since MMM (Money Making Mitch) mixtape, was released in 2015.
