Diddy is returning to music after 17 years, and to give fans an inside look at creating his upcoming album, The Love Album: Off the Grid, the 53-year-old shared an emotional trailer for it. In the video, Diddy goes through ups and downs while collaborating with artists like Justin Bieber, French Montana, and DJ Khaled on the project.

The trailer, which dropped Tuesday, includes behind-the-scenes footage of the New York native recording the album.

“Why am I doing this?” he said early in the trailer. “Especially with the success that I’ve had, especially where my life is, how stressful and treacherous this music business is why would I just come back in here and have to do something I don’t have to do.”

Diddy then opened up about struggling after his ex Kim Porter’s death and shared he wondered whether he’d be able to love again. The trailer returns to the studio, where Diddy does his thing with Swae Lee, Mary J. Blige, Babyface, 21 Savage, The Weeknd and more.

Later, Diddy is frustrated amid the creation process.

“I had to go off the grid to really lock in. I’m so addicted to my phone, so addicted to my work, so addicted to the bulls**t,” Diddy said in the trailer. “Right now, I’m on the edge, and it’s just too much going on that’s unnecessary. You can’t do it all.”

The almost four-minute video concludes with the album’s title and release date: Sept. 15. Diddy also shared the trailer on Instagram, where many of his peers praised the teaser and his return to music.

“Congratulations Love,” Yung Miami commented.

“🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥,” Busta Rhymes added.

“Divine timing!!!🖤,” Stevie J wrote.

Diddy was slated to release Off The Grid Vol. 1 on Sept. 24, 2021, Rock The Bells reported. The father-of-seven’s last solo album, Press Play, dropped in 2006, while Diddy-Dirty Money’s lone offering, Last Train to Paris, came out in 2010.
