Diddy has officially earned billionaire status and surpassed Kanye West to become the second wealthiest hip-hop artist in North America. According to former Forbes editor Zack O’Malley, Diddy now trails only Jay-Z on the list of wealthiest hip-hop artists.

West stood in second until Adidas ended its partnership with the rapper due to his antisemitic comments in recent weeks. The “Gold Digger” singer, who earned $250 million in 2021, was estimated to have a net worth of $2 billion earlier this year, Complex reports. West  is now estimated to be worth around $500 million.

With a net worth of $1 billion, Diddy now becomes hip-hop’s third billionaire. The billionaire’s vodka brand, CÎROC, is largely responsible for skyrocketing his wealth. The CÎROC brand increased its value to an even higher level when it partnered with DIAGEO, the company which describes itself as the global leader in alcoholic beverage.

Revolt, Diddy’s television network, has also played a large role in helping him earn billionaire status. His other assets also include DeLeón Tequila. The highly successful entrepreneur earned $90 million in 2021.

Jay-Z remains on top of the wealthiest hip-hop artist list with a net worth of $1.5 billion.
