Djimon Hounsou has joined Michael Pena and Dougray Scott in Lakeshore Entertainment’s horror/thriller The Vatican Tapes.
The film centers on a leaked video tape that reveals a Vatican exorcism gone very, very awry.
Mark Neveldine (Crank, Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance) is attached to direct, from a script penned by Christopher Borrelli, with revisions by Michael C. Martin and director Neveldine.
Kathleen Robertson, Peter Andersson, Olivia Dudley, John Patrick Amedori and Alex Sparrow also star with Lionsgate on board to release the film domestically.
Shooting will begin in July.
Hounsou will play a Vatican official called in to exorcise the demon.
Lakeshore’s last demonic possession tale, The Exorcism of Emily Rose, grossed over $144 million globally.
