Djimon Hounsou will star, alongside Norman Reedus (The Walking Dead) in a sci-fi drama titled Air.
The project hails from video game designer Christian Cantamessa (who will both write and direct), and is set in an underground cryogenic facility after a nuclear fallout that has destroyed Earth’s atmosphere, rendering the air unbreathable. Hounsou and Reedus will play a pair of specialized personnel who are tasked with re-building society once the air has been purified. Of course, all doesn’t go as planned.
Robert Kirkman, creator of the Walking Dead comics, and a writer/producer on the show is joining Reedus, but behind the camera, as co-producer on the movie via his production company, Skybound Entertainment.
The long-in-development project is currently courting Sony Pictures as backer.
Hounsou will next be seen in Guardians Of The Galaxy this summer, and Fast & Furious 7, in 2015.
