Djimon Hounsou has joined the cast of the post-apocalyptic adventure One, from Australian filmmaker Murali Thalluri, who will be directing from his own script.
The intriguing premise for One sees it set in a world after a virus has wiped out 99% of humanity, leaving those who have survived divided into racial groups all fighting for a cure.
No word yet on what role Hounsou has signed up to play in the South African-Australian co-production.
He joins a cast that includes Alexis Knapp and Sammy Shaikh.
Main Street Films is co-producing and co-financing the film, with Greig Buckle of Enigma Pictures co-producing.
Kathy Morgan Intl. is repping the project’s international sales at Cannes currently.
Hounsou will be seen next in The Anomaly.
