nullWith just 10 hours left until the end of his Indiegogo crowdfunder to help finance "Miles Ahead" – his long-in-gestation Miles Davis project – the campaign has surpassed its $325,000 goal!

Its current total sits at $336,781, as of the time of this post. But, with 10 hours to go, you can still contribute (here); I’m sure Don Cheadle wouldn’t mind.

Not quite down to the wire, but close enough!

I have yet to contribute to a single "celebrity" crowdfunding campaign (I’ve given a lot to the *smaller* non-celeb indie projects); but this is one that I opted to contribute to, if only because it’s a project I really want to see on the screen, and I dig the talent involved.

So now, the time has come to make a movie. Finally, after years in limbo, Don Cheadle can now bring his Miles Davis film to life.

The story follows Miles Davis (played by Cheadle, who’s also directing), after his record label steals his comeback album before he’s ready for it to be heard, as he hunts it down with the help of a music journalist (played by Ewan McGregor).

Emayatzy Corinealdi (as Frances Taylor, Miles Davis’ first wife), Keith Stanfield (playing a character named Junior – a young trumpet player who is involved in the theft of the stolen recordings) are also members of the cast.

If you haven’t yet read our interview with Don Cheadle about the project, you should. He fills in several blanks that you’ll appreciate, if it’s a film you’re excited about. Read it here.

Cheadle is producing the film through his Crescendo Productions banner, along with Bifrost’s Daniel Wagner, and Robert Ogden Barnum. Also producing are Darryl Porter and Vince Wilburn on behalf of the Davis estate, Lenore Zerman and Pam Hirsch.

Cameras are now rolling!
