Three officers were shot and killed Sunday in Baton Rogue, LA as tensions between citizens and law enforcement across the country remain on edge. The biggest question lingering is what motivated the former U.S. Marine to open fire on the victims. In an interview Sunday night with CNN’s Don Lemon, Wisconsin sheriff David Clarke immediately pointed the finger at the Black Lives Matter movement and anti-police .
The discussion quickly took a sharp turn when Clarke said he predicted recent violence two years ago.
“My message has been clear from day one two years ago. This anit-cop sentiment from this hateful ideology called Black Lives Matter has fueled this rage against the American police officer,” Clarke said.
Lemon went on to question Clarke’s beliefs on his statements blaming BLM. Clarke, who is speaking at the Republican National Convention on Monday, wouldn’t back down on his stance.
After asking Clarke to keep his volume down, Lemon quickly cut to break.
The conversation caused an immediate debate on Twitter.
I saw that Don Lemon interview. Sheriff Clarke clearly came to fight and didn't want to dialogue.

That Don Lemon interview was fine, why are people dragging him. He just wasn't as aggressive as the cop so it made his defenses look weaker.
