Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, Eminem, Mary J. Blige and Kendrick Lamar will be taking the stage at the Super Bowl LVI Halftime Show, according to Billboard. Organized in partnership with NFL, Pepsi and Roc Nation, the show will take place in Inglewood, California, at the SoFi stadium. The show will mark the first time all of the artists have performed together on stage. 

“The opportunity to perform at the Super Bowl Halftime show, and to do it in my own backyard, will be one of the biggest thrills of my career,” Dre said in a statement. “I’m grateful to JAY-Z, Roc Nation, the NFL and Pepsi as well as Snoop Dogg, Eminem, Mary J. Blige and Kendrick Lamar for joining me in what will be an unforgettable cultural moment.”

Eminem echoed the producer's excitement, tweeting, "Dre day in February? I’m there!"

Dr. Dre has collaborated with each of the artists during his legendary career, creating some of their biggest hits. He famously produced Snoop Dogg's Doggystyle album before finding a protégé in Eminem. The two collaborated on a number of songs while he was signed to Dre's Aftermath Records. Lamar also spent part of his career on the label as well. 

The NFL and PepsiCo are also partnering together on a deal to launch the magnet high school Regional School #1 in South Los Angeles.

“This year we are blowing the roof off the concept of collaboration,” PepsiCo Senior VP of Media, Sports and Entertainment Adam Harter said in a statement, per Billboard. “Along with the NFL and Roc Nation, we continue to try and push the limits on what fans can expect during the most exciting 12 minutes in music; this year’s superstar line-up is sure to deliver a mind-blowing performance.”

Roc Nation founder and CEO JAY-Z orchestrated the legendary lineup as part of his ongoing work with the NFL. Roc Nation and Jesse Collins will executive produce the show. Hamish Hamilton will direct. 

“On Feb. 13, 2022, at the Super Bowl LVI in Inglewood, CA, in the new SoFi Stadium, Dr. Dre, a musical visionary from Compton, Snoop Dogg, an icon from Long Beach and Kendrick Lamar, a young musical pioneer in his own right, also from Compton, will take center field for a performance of a lifetime," JAY-Z said in a statement. “They will be joined by the lyrical genius, Eminem and the timeless Queen, Mary J. Blige. This is the Pepsi Super Bowl Halftime Show. This is history in the making.”

In August of 2019, JAY-Z made a controversial decision to join the NFL following waves of backlash over its blackballing of Colin Kaepernick. His partnership with the league has centered on the intersections of music and social justice.
