As his line-up of singles and visuals continue for his album Certified Lover Boy, Drake released a slasher-animated video for “Knife Talk” featuring 21 Savage and Project Pat. The Canadian's merger of cross-generational rappers over slasher-themed black-and-white cinematography is quite creative.
With ingenuity and an homage to old horror films, zombies, talking dolls and vintage cartoons. The mellow beat, produced by Metro Boomin and Peter Lee Johnson, finds the trio's faces embedded in the archival clips brandishing what appears to be large kitchen knives.
Drake released a teaser for the video which was directed by Pablo Rochat. In the short clip shared on Thursday to Instagram, the rapper created curiosity for the classic-themed four-minute video.

With lyrics like “I'm mister body catcher, Slaughter Gang soul snatcher,” the music video lives up to the seemingly dark theme. The song samples Project Pat’s brother, Juicy J’s, “Feed the Streets” song which was released in 2017; it featured ASAP Rocky and Project Pat.
During an interview with 360 Hype Plug, Project Pat revealed that “Knife Talk” was originally slated for 21 Savage’s album.
“It was a track that was done and Metro Boomin, that’s my guy too, he hooked it up," the Memphis rapper said, "He had the track, it was supposed to go on 21 Savage’s album but it didn’t make it. And then Drake got it, man, and he gave me that Drake blessing.”
"Knife Talk" entered the Billboard Hot 100 during its debut, and became Project Pat's highest-charting single peaking at No. 4. Certified Lover Boy has since returned to the top spot on the Billboard 200 albums chart for a fifth nonconsecutive week, according to Billboard.
Drake’s Certified Lover Boy album rose to the top of the music charts since its release. According to Rolling Stone, his sixth studio album was a commercial success and accumulated 166.5 million audio streams. The Grammy winner achieved his ninth number one hit with “Way 2 Sexy” which featured Young Thug and Future.
