Golden State Warriors All-Star forward Draymond Green is giving kudos to NBA comrade LeBron James for inspiring players to boss up and make major moves within and outside the industry.

In a recent interview on CNBC’s Power Lunch, the California NBA star said James opened doors for players to be more assertive in making the best moves for their career.

“You know, with what [LeBron's] done in his career that's kind of shown everybody else the power that you have as a player,” he said. “We've taken control of our destiny. And I think a lot of people hate that but I think that's one of — you know, everybody celebrates LeBron for his basketball career and the things he's been able to accomplish.”

Green also commended James for his accolades and endeavors outside of the NBA.

“You have to give a lot of credit to LeBron. LeBron did a great job managing his business with his partners,” he said in a GQ interview last year. “I either read it or I saw him speaking about it … he started to view himself as a partner, not someone who just had an endorsement deal. And I think a lot of athletes have started to take that back.”

According to Complex, over the course of his career, James has invested in a production company, a separate media company and even a pizza chain. While his recent attempt to trademark “Taco Tuesday” was a bust, James’ widely talked-about HBO show The Shop continues to garner buzz and dialogue amongst viewers.

It’s always good to see camaraderie amongst talented players on and off the court.
