In what we'd call no-brainer casting, adding to his already stacked slate of upcoming movies, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, can now officially add Hercules to his to-do list.
Last we reported on this, in February, Johnson was said to be "in talks" to star in the MGM project, which was to be directed by Brett Ratner.
Ratner is still attached from a script adapted from Radical Studio’s graphic novel Hercules: The Thracian Wars.
All deals are no apparently set, as it's been announced that the film is now scheduled to go in production in early 2013, and looks to be Johnson's next shoot, once he's done with Fast & Furious 6, which is currently filming.
Paramount Pictures will co-produce with MGM, along with Beau Flynn, Barry Levine and Brett Ratner.
Peter Berg, Sarah Aubrey and Jesse Berger will executive produce.
