Dwyane Wade And Gabrielle Union Share Sweet Photos Supporting Daughter Zaya For Her Winter Formal

Dwyane Wade, 41, and Gabrielle Union, 50, shared family photos of their daughter Zaya heading out to her winter formal dance on Sunday.

Zaya looked stunning in her off-white sequinned spaghetti-strap dress with an embellished white flower on her chest. She styled the dress with a puffy cream chiffon shoulder shawl. Her dewy and soft glam paired perfectly with her classic natural aesthetic and softly waved curls.

The Instagram carousel includes Zaya posing alongside her dad, stepmom and little sister, Kaavia James, 4, dressed casually, surrounding the girl of the hour.

“Winter Formal. Supporting each other for life’s big moments is key,” the couple captioned the joint post. “All the nerves, all the anxiety, all the fear… With loved ones by your side, no matter the challenge, we 10 toes down. Always,” Union captioned the post.

Wade and Union have publicly supported their daughter, who recently came out as transgender in 2020. In 2022, Zaya’s mother and Wade’s ex-wife, Siohvaughn Funches-Wade, filed a petition to postpone Zaya’s gender and name change. Funches-Wade also claimed Wade was using his daughter’s choice as a marketing tool for his career.

Wade responded to the allegations calling them “serious and harmful” in his online statement.

“Since this must be the new way of parenting, I guess I have to address these allegations here, which is a damn shame,” he wrote.

“All I ever wanted was to have my parenting time uninterrupted, as I knew that it would be a very difficult time for our kids to navigate their new normal. So Instead of actually trying to co-parent over the years, she’s left her home to see more lawyers and has taken the time to talk to more lawyers since I filed for divorce, than she’s left her home to actually see or have truly spoken and LISTENED to Zaya over all these years,” he said.

The supportive family sent their bell of the ball of on special night with love and smiles.
