Dreams do come true! At least that is the case for Ebony Banks of Houston, Texas. On Wednesday, the Hastings High School senior was Facetime'd by her idol, Beyoncé. The call came as the result of a social media campaign launched by friends of Banks, who is battling stage 4 of a rare form of cancer.
As #EbobMeetsBeyonce began trending, thousands of people got involved.
The viral hashtag caught the attention of Beyoncé who reached out to Banks during a special early graduation ceremony at MD Anderson Cancer Center where Banks is receiving treatment.
During the call, Banks got a chance to tell her idol, “I love you Beyoncé,” to which the superstar replied, “I love you.”
And there you have it, folks. The power of social media.
