The hardest working man in show-business continues to maintain that title, as he’s is in talks to bring author Robert Ludlum’s novel "The Janson Directive" to the big screen.

Dwayne Johnson, assuming an agreement is reached, will take on the role of an ex-Navy Seal and covert operations specialist who finds himself at the center of a termination plot after a rescue mission goes horribly wrong.

The project is currently set up at Universal Pictures, although no writer nor director is attached to it yet.

The studio is reportedly eager to turn the movie adaptation into a franchise, just like Ludlum’s "Bourne" series.

Up next for Mr Johnson is "Hercules," which hits theaters on July 25.
