There’s a brand-new custom-built home sitting at 138 St. Clarens Ave. that’s making a big splash in Toronto’s Little Portugal neighborhood. And, if you aren’t on the lookout for it, you just might drive past the 8-foot-wide house.

The three-story detached property went on the market almost two weeks ago for approximately $1,950,000, according to realtor Keven Trudel with Real Estate Bay Realty, who told CTV News Toronto.
The home is split into three separate units, each with its own private entrance, and there is also a recreational basement. The home features three bathrooms and four bathrooms, and it’s exactly 1,700 square feet.
Now there’s no denying the hefty price tag of the home, but Trudel said the value is based on the hard work his client put into constructing it. Plus, it was a passion project and it has an amazing original design.
Speaking of “original design,” what shocked most viewers about the 8-food-wide house is the fact that the toilet is placed within the bedroom.

There’s bigger fish to fry than that. Where’s the shower?

“There’s bigger fish to fry than that,” another Twitter user replied. “Where’s the shower?”
“It’s one of my client’s creations,” Trudel told CTV News Toronto. “It’s a little pricey, obviously, because we’re on a little bit of land, but it’s also valuable because it’s rare and different.”
The property wasn’t built with just one idea in mind. It can be used as a single-family home, or it could be a great investment for someone looking to rent it out as separate living quarters.
In addition, the 138 St. Clarens Ave. address isn’t the first property of its kind to be built in Toronto.
Last year, 154 Hamilton St., a four-story home just under 10 feet wide, sold for $1,750,000. Despite that, the St. Clarens Avenue house isn’t a fan favorite, as many Canadians dislike the ultrathin build.

It’s a three unit rental opportunity. You know someone is going to grab it. But it may not go for that price in this market. $1.6M max…
